Visible as nothing more than a small black dot in the sky, the peregrine falcon commands altitudes of a thousand feet, waiting for its prey to present itself. Then without warning, drops in a blurring stoop, an unwavering strike and the downy feathers of a pheasant drift silently away as the bird of kings rests in victory. Early Americans turned the crafting of decoys into a timeless art form. Building on tradition, the artisans in the Big Sky Carvers workshop preserve this rich history with our high quality woodcarvings. Forever captured in eastern white pine, alder, and basswood, these collectibles represent an exemplary collection of decoys, bird, fish, and animal carvings. Meticulous attention to detail and masterful hand painting provide realistic portrails of each bird. Every carving is numbered, limited and authenticated with a brass medallion set into the base or a brass numbered plate. Presentaion medallion cord with product description card is also included. |
