Thankfully, some things never change. As we celebrate our 28th anniversary, it is amazing to look back at our product offerings and compare them to today. From the sheer number of items, to the wealth of product variety, we’ve surely grown into something we never initially imagined. Fortunately, the core ideas that mean so much to us haven’t changed at all. We remain passionate about the creative process and even more passionate about the outdoors that we bring into homes everywhere.

Description:
These sculptures are meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on my own life experiences. Each Piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired. “All I wanted to do when I was a kid was fish. Most summer mornings I wolfed down my cereal, grabbed my pole, and peddled with my buddies to the Fox River or Blackberry Creek. We lived near some farm ponds, one of which had enormous bluegills. The bait shop in Oswego was having a big fish contest, and I was determined to win the bluegill category with a fish from that pond. I was so determined that I would skip homework and race over and see if they were biting. My sister had adopted a mutt named Pooch that I tried to tolerate despite the fact that he wasn’t a bird dog. One day after school I rode my bike to the pond, but, try as I might, I couldn’t get Pooch to stay home. On my very first cast I landed a jumbo bluegill. I fished my way around the perimeter of the pound, probing for more Sumo pan fish, but to no avail. So, I packed my stuff and went back for my stringer. I found it stretched out on the shore with no fish attached to it. Turtles! I looked everywhere in the mud for tracks, determined to hunt down the villain. Finding no tracks, I shuffled to my bike hoping that at least my dad would believe my story. As I rode home, Pooch ran up alongside me and I noticed the tail of my bluegill hanging out of his mouth! For better or worse, there is always something special about a scene with a kid, a dog and a fishing pole!” -Marc Pierce, Founder - Big Sky Carvers. What Homework? |
